Writing

Work with me one-on-one on your writing goals! I have taught over 100 writers in fiction, poetry, nonfiction and personal essay. Together we will learn about how to utilize language for efficiency and effect by using examples, prompts, and exercises designed just for you. We will shape your tone and scene work and motifs, using the best literary fiction, poems, essays as examples to inspire specific modeling and improvements.

Books

I am a book coach that has been guiding manuscripts for over a decade, from editing poems in top literary journals to creative writing collections, from preparing self-publishing projects to agent-ready manuscripts. Book coaching can become a combination of extensive editing and any new words alongside ongoing feedback, prompts, and exercises to maximize your writing time and interests.

Although every author is different, every book reaches multiple stages, and each outcome varies depending on the audience and publishing goals. I will always endeavor to draw out the work’s best features. Available and flexible in demeanor, I pride myself on my ability to understand the needs of the writer while prioritizing the needs of the project—with reverie for the book as a vital object in the world. If we are a match, we can also continue steps toward publishing. If we are not, I will refer out whenever the project is beyond my scope. Managing others’ publication life (alongside my own) ensures I know the value of administrative precision, adhering to deadlines, and production best practices.

Developmental Editing

Developmental editing is big-picture thinking that includes an critique and overview of the goals, structure, and strengths of your book or document-in-process. You can piecemeal help the form of an author letter or manuscript audit to extensive document comments, a ongoing feedback that describes gaps and deficits, or ongoing editing on a developing your book.

 

Ghostwriting
